How to Choose the Perfect Perfume that Guarantees Praise
To make a good perfume choice, some information needs to be taken into account, such as… how much you would like it to last on the skin? What is your skin type? Is it for any special occasion?
That is why I have 4 Tips to Choose Perfume that is Perfect for you!
Know the Perfume Duration
There is a difference between the fragrances. Each has different amounts of essence used in its formulation, and this is what determines the duration of the smell on the skin. The difference between each is the concentration of the essence (the oils that exude the aroma), the more diluted the fragrance, the lower the essence concentration and vice versa.
Pay attention to the perfume packaging, because there are 5 ranges of concentration:
More concentrated and
Eau de Parfum (EDP)
Is one of the most beloved, because it has oils in its composition, that makes the perfume last longer and fix better its fragrance. Strong, perfect for parties and special occasions. The concentration is around 15% and 20%. They last between 6 and 8 hours on the skin.
Eau de Toilette (EDT)
Of the five, it is the middle-term perfume, because besides combining with the warm climate, it helps to disguise the scent of perspiration. It has concentrations between 5% to 15%, lasts between 4 and 6 hours, on the skin.
Eau de Cologne (EDC) and Eau Fraîche
These are perfect for days of great heat, because, they pass the sense of freshness. They have concentrations below 5% and last up to 3-4 hours on the skin.

Skin Types – Best Match Perfumes
Each skin has its characteristics and influences the perfume duration and smell. But in general, the choice of perfume versus skin can be based on oily and dry skin.
Go for the softest fragrances, because they adhere better to this type of skin.
cented scents can be used without fear, as the fragrance stays for less time on lighter skin.
Choose an Eau de Toilette or even a non-alcohol version from a favorite fragrance. The fragrance adheres better to oily skin, so the perfume will become even more intense. The higher the concentration of the essence, the stronger the perfume will be on the skin.
The fragrance fixes less on dry skin, so it should be reapplied. Strongest and most striking aromas are good fits. An alternative is to use a moisturizer from the same perfume brands to better retain the aroma.
The one that better manage to keep the perfume essence exactly as it is.
Wait for the Notes
Wait to find out how the scent will truly smell on the skin. You should wait at least 1 hour after applying it. This is because the smell evaporates throughout the day and this is due to the notes that make up the essence, which are the true responsible for fixing the perfume on the skin.
Perfume Notes are: Top Notes, Middle/Heart Notes and Base Notes
You feel the aroma immediately, is the first impression. It is what arouses the interest in buying. It lasts about 15 minutes after application.
When the Top Notes begin to weaken, the Heart ones appear. It’s the identity of the perfume. It is the scent that people will be able to feel more about you. Lasts about 30 minutes after Top Notes evaporate.
These appear after a few hours and is the last scent that will evaporate, so it is what will set in the skin. Lasts a l
Wait Before Buying
When possible test it before buying and wait that the true smell appears, that is until the Top Notes have evaporated.
When buying online or in a catalog, check if you can try a sample.
When you go to buy a perfume, go without any perfume to avoid mixing them.
When trying, pass on different parts of the forearm, to avoid mixing aromas.
So, before you buy perfume, ask yourself the following questions:
– Where I live, the weather is usually warm or cold?
– Is to use on a daily basis, or for special occasions?
– Will I use it in the day or night?
– Do I prefer soft or stronger fragrances?
– What is the season?
I hope these tips help you to better choose your new perfume.
Good luck!!! ^_^
